About Amy Eira

Hi, I’m Amy, founder of Amy Eira Jewellery. (Eira is my middle name which I love and is pronounced Ay-ruh). I am happiest when I’m at my bench creating jewellery. Sometimes I have no idea what i’m going to make when I sit down, and that’s often the best thing for me. I like to let my creativity take over and see where it takes me. One of my favourite things to do is create one-off pieces using beautiful gemstones. Often it’s the case that I only have one of each of these beautiful stones and as such it makes these one-off pieces all the more precious as there is only one.

I’ve always been a creative person but along the way my creativity got lost in ‘paying the bills’ jobs. Now I find myself in a very fortunate position where I am able to run my own business and do what I love every day…

...Hand making jewellery with silver, gold and gemstones.

Over the years I have gained extensive experience and I have been very lucky in finding a mentor in a friend, Christine. She took me into her workshop and taught me how to create jewellery using a wide range of techniques, traditional and modern. I owe my practical jewellery making skills to her.

I’m originally from the midlands but have landed in sunny North Devon with my husband, Rob who is also a small business owner and an absolute legend, and our doggy Jaffa, she’s a Hungarian Vizsla and totally beautiful and nuts.

We love spending time with family and friends, eating food (mainly a dirty burger!) and weekends by the sea with the pup. We especially love Cornwall. It’s where we have spent many happy moments including our recent wedding and honeymoon. I draw not only inspiration from living near the coast, but also find that being near the sea lends me a sense of happiness and wellbeing which I find spurs me on to create more.

My jewellery collections are named after women I know and love.

Women who inspire me to be the best version of myself everyday. They are strong in their own individual ways, all fighting their own battles but always remaining positive and optimistic in their approach to life. It is these women who inspire me to create these collections, their intricacies and flaws, their beauty and friendship. I think about what jewellery would make them happy, make them feel confident and as beautiful as their friendship is to me.

You know who you are! x
